MY FIRST VIDEO BLOG

I'd just been to see Year One. The whole experience warranted a video blog.

(Might I add. I'd left my phone at home. When I got back, I noticed a text from my friend saying "I'm not coming, I'm not ready! TURN BACK!!!"

AMAZIN' MOTOR CARRIAGE!

I have no idea what this is actually called, nor who it's by (another foreign site) but I'm simply posting this because it's something I've dreamt about for a long time! It looks like something JML would invent...like....a huge project of theirs (most of their stuff are small and cost a quid).
If the carriage came with a games console or tv or something audio-visual, I would be content!

Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2

Forget the grease-monkey jargon cos I ain't into that...at the end of the day, this Car is HOT!!!
You should all know by now that I'm a fan of the Lamborghini, especially the Gallaordo so when I saw these picture of the LP550-2, my heart skipped a beat or five. The thing I that I consider highly when looking at a car is the interior. Let's be honest, you're not gonna be looking at how gleaming the rims are when you're driving it right? It's like, biblical fact. Man looks out the outward appearance but the driver sees the interior. I think the designers have took this into consideration when creating this beast, I mean, notice the go-faster stripes on the seats, consistent with the exterior of the car. Apparently this car is out next year, which put's a large smile on my face :)

Jay-Z - D.O.A (Death of Auto-tune)

Seems like the jigga man has got a new image. Growing his hair and sporting a lil goatee, Hova has created a tune which is personally think is far from a masterpiece like most of his work. In he sings the famous Paul Leka line "Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye!"
TBH, I'm not too big a fan of the song but I quite like the vid!

Phase #5 of the light series: Nissan Cube Ad: Mobile Device

This video is so clever! I love the way this video makes me feel which is why I have added it to the light series. I like that Spike Lee effect in this this too. The video is very clever giving the car a community feel (more of a internet community such as facebook). V.Clever!

(Check out Phase #4 of the light series: Tokyo,
Phase #3 of the light series: Still Run, or Phase #2 which is the
Shinjuku, Tokyo post. Plus Phase #1: "Natural Light"from this series.

Florence and the machine - Halo (cover)

Well, I'm chillaxin in the Media Office at church, doing work obv! Emma (legendary friend of mine, awesome friend and photographer) is listening to the BBC live lounge, telling me and Moses (another ledge of a friend, font of all media tech knowledge) about a band that she loves called Florence and the Machine. They'd done some cover of Beyonce's song "Halo" which was REALLY different. Florence (the lead singer) personalised the song and changed it stylistically...in a nutshell: "FLIPPIN AWESOME".
So yeh, Emma plays the song through the speaker so that we could all hear. I'm in awe of Florence, thinking how awesome it is and unique etc...Moses said it was hurting his ears. He said that she was flat, out of key and out of tune and wasn't the least bit impressed. Anyhooo, we get into a bit of a debate about the whole thing. Emma is defending FATM with her kinda, sarcastic comments toward Mo. Me not wanting to hurt his feelings kept my dominating hysteric laugh to myself and decided to post this blog. I was LAUGHING HARD...(on the inside).
Anyhooo, amungst Emma's continual sly puns, I post this topic. What do you think? Country-indie-tone-deaf-banshee or an elegant-stylistical-indie-contemporary-vocal-natural genius?

New Alexander McQueen

I am NOT a fan of the new Alexander McQueen mens Spring/Summer Collection. Remember the last post with the tapered half mass type trousers. Well, I think he's gone off that.
What he's done this time is classic McQueen. He's done something really bold and non-subtle. But for me, it's horribly WRONG! I seriously can't see this collection being successful.
Noticed it yet?
Look at the trousers...He's take normal traditional trouser bottoms, and then simply rolled them up; not so that they're wedged to your calf but so they're hanging and loosey-goosey!
I hate it that much that I'm not putting up anymore pictures up. If you want more pictures, google it.

Laura Adel Johnson: Light Faces!

The lights in this are so pretty. So much so that I was gonna make then part of the light series but this project is not quite what the light series is about.
Basically, Laura creates pictures on walls using fairy lights. I love her style and creativity she puts into this whole project and each picture individually, for example; The way she will put the lights creating the faces switched off, and the lights creating the tears switched on. And it's also as if the tears create large light puddles on the floor.

Fly Everywhere I go

I'm not sure the meaning of the space suit. I think it's the best representation of a flying occupation. And also, when you fly in a rocket, you're flying a lot higher than any other flying vehicle.
The whole flying thing is a play on words. I flipping love it! The campaign is by a clothing label called Frequently Fly Clothing.

"Frequently Fly Clothing is the only apparel for those who have pursued and embody the art of being fly. These people are members of a prestigious and elite group known as the “Flyght Club.” All who gain access to the Flyght Club bear the responsibility of being fly on a daily basis."

I love the concept and I love the photo's.

Beyonce - Ego (remix ft Kanye West)

I didn't think they would release this with a video because I first heard the song on a mixtape. To cut a long story (very) short...here it is!
I love the music in this and was suprised when I found out that Kanye didn't make. I found that out on Wiki so I'm still not fully convinced tbh.
This song is supposed to be about Beyonce talking about Jay-Z's (her husband's) genitals ("it's too big, it's too wide, it's too strong, it won't fit") which is crude to say the least. Overall, very catchy, very good production, Kanye's got a killer flow, good melody...two t'umbs fresh!

Maurizio Cattelan

I love the craziness of these picture. They don't make any sense yet I love them. Maurizio has just used his imagination and gone crazy. By the looks of these pics, I would say that he has a positive outlook on life and is generally happy and in a good mood. These picture make you smile on the inside and outside.
I see these picture as the scat music of photography. I see Scatting as music with vocals beyond the lyrics...like...when word's fail you and you just wanna sing, you scat and make something jazzy and beautiful and people can still relate on a that-doesn't-make-sense kinda-level. That's how I see Maurizio's photo's. When you don't know what to take a picture of, you compose something that doesn't and people cant relate on a that-doesn't-make-sense kinda-level. I think that, like scat music, you get your own message from it. Try get a message from them, it's fun.
Love em!

Sacha Waldman

Cyanatrendland.com said it all for me:
"Don’t call Sacha Waldman a traditionalist. This South African / New York based photographer never took a photography class. He never shot film. Jumping straight into digital, Waldman just tinkered with his images until he found inspiration. “Experimentation is the main thing,” said Waldman. “You create a look that turns you on….and you move from there.” Between Hip-hop, guns, money, celebrity, chocking and creepy kids, Waldman’s imagery is diverse with interesting sets research ( sometimes it takes him more than a week to create one image)
and long time post-production / digital manipulation. Check more of his chocking images at sachawaldman.com"

My very own Helino

Do you all remember the Helino post that I did?
Well I had a go myself...I haven't actually got permission but I'll take it down if she dunt approve.

I got a bit bored and thought I'd give it a lil shot. I could make it better if I'd spent more time on it but it's gettin late and I'm pretty tired. Nevertheless (a phrase I say a bit too much...search it), I hope ya dig!

"These works place Fairy Tale characters in modern day scenarios. In all of the images the Princess is placed in an environment that articulates her conflict. The '...happily ever after' is replaced with a realistic outcome and addresses current issues." - JPG Magazine

The project title I love "Fallen Princesses". I love the concept of placing fairy tale into reality. See if you can guess which fairy tales they have come from
