Digitally Fabricated Bookshelf by dbd Studio

Stop books from LOOKING crap with this bookshelf from dbd Studio (it's not gonna change the tripe that's inside the books), never the less I wouldn't mind this bad boy in my non-existent contemporary mansion. Who said you had to put books on them?

Nova DSLR Camera Concept

I think the aim of this camera is to create the sense of feel you're get holding a joystick for a games console. I think this camera would maximise comfortability whilst holding the Nova when taking shots (once you get past the awkward layout of the cam not having the cliche format). I think this camera will maximise creative angles aswell as the efficiency of taking photo's in more extreme (extreme as in sports and activities) conditions. The down side is that I can see it being hard to mount on a tripod and also hard to get shots level (I can see the shots being generally wonky). I think that's the whole point though...this cam is more than likely to be an alternative camera rather than someone's main camera (if you get what I mean).
What dya think?

Tony Hawk: Ride (console game)

It's about time they invented a game that portrays what skating is really about. To be honest, I think Xbox are just raking in the money, working their way toward the Microsoft Natal (smart thinking). Ya see, there's no skating-skill in flicking a few buttons with your thumbs. I think the makers of this game (I doubt it was Tony's idea) took this into consideration and decided they would make a game where you were actually standing on a board. Obviously, with there being no trucks on the game board-controller, playing this game too much could create new skating habits that might affect your real street skating...but I don't think that is too likely...a good balance should do the trick.

Countdown Traffic Light Concept by Damjan Stanković

They say they're eco-friendly because drivers can turn off their engines while they wait for the green light (seen as though they know when it's coming....yawn!
Is it me or do some lights ALWAYS change quicker than others? Well!... not with these countdown lights. It's such a simple concept but could make a big difference. It could minimise road rage too!

Godiva Chocoiste by Wonderwall

Browsing the internet, I stumbled across this interior design which caught my eye, and OH.... COINCIDENCE!!!... it's by JAPANESE design company Wonderwall for a chocolatier’s shop in Harajuku, Japan. Oh SNAP!!! Japan really know how to do it! They created the illusion that chocolate is dripping from the walls and ceiling.

Russian Roulette cover

This is one of my "bredrins" singing the new single from Rihanna. I've known this gyal from TIIMMEEE and from as long as I can remember, she's been one of the baddest singers on road (loooollll). On a real though: she's quite amazing, going from strength to strength! SHE...is an inspiration!

Manchester Christmas by Simon Dempsey

So I'm feeling a bit of a Grinch this christmas (not a Scrooge, a Grinch). And to be honest, I'm not in the christmas spirit (there's a slight lack of christmas advert, including the Coca-Cola advert). However, I got a sudden tingle from the ghost of christmas past (yes I know that was a scrooge reference, and what?) when I decided to use the interval in my spongebob squarepants episode, to have a peek at my friend's (oh yeh! proud to know him) collection of christmas clips from a german market in MANNY!!! (that's street for Manchester). Using the very cam I'm hoping Santa will deliver to me this christmas (a Canon 5D2), he captured the very essence of the season. And for that...PROPS!!!

Collective housing project by Sou Fujimoto Architects

Their designed for my favourite country in the world....TOKYO!!! I think these are pretty beautiful! They give a real sense of community. I would define this design as "urban contemporary" and would defo move into one of these with a group of friends, or perhaps they would make pretty quality college apartments. With two/three independent rooms per house, they're perfect for simple quiet living, with a community feel.
However, I can see some down sides. With no banisters of railings, these houses are not very toddler or elderly friendly (check the picture of the figures positioned to be sat on roofs). These houses are a fairly dangerous way of living, suppose you came home late and tired or a little tipsy. Also, if you're playing loud music or wanting a party, without a tight community spirit, this would be a problem.
With perfect circumstances and conditions (tight community and no coming home late or tired), I wouldn't mind a community housing as such.

Flexio solar-powered FM radio

I don't really know many people who listen to radio anymore. If they do, it's either on their laptop, on the internet, or in their car because they don't have an ipod connection or their CD player is broken. Even CD is a dieing medium. However, Flexio are being a little bit optimistic with this solar-powered FM radio. Here's a lil bit of copy and paste action just so you I don't get it wrong:

"Industrial designers
Wu Kun-chia, Wang Shih-ju, Chen Ming-daw and Liou Chang-ho
have designed the Flexio – a solar-powered portable radio,
which is printable and inexpensive.
The paper-packaged radio with a flexible speaker,
is designed to remain fixed on a single channel,
which means you get country and city specific radios in the box.
The device includes a flexible solar cell
to charge the device with renewable energy."

I think their aims are to popularise the radio once again...hmmm...I'm a little bit pessimistic with this one, but the idea is pretty genius. A slimline PAPER radio...a little bit genius.

Glassing Sunglasses: Kiss my glass

Would you believe (which such a post as this) I'm trying to choose my blogs carefully. It's easy to update my blog is any old tripe/spam that looks cool, and call it "inspiration". And with the lack of feedback, it's hard to tell if anybody is actually reading my blogs, and I don't know what post are affective, and what post's are not (my twitter fam are more like frienemies)...fact of the matter is...you can all KISS MY GLASS!!! (see what I did there).

This post is sheerly to challenge your perspective. It's pretty bait that the people who composed this advert for Glassing are clearly thinking outside the box with this one. I have my presumptions as to how they came up with this idea but I'll leave it to your imaginations too...perhaps trying to think along the same wavelengths will perhaps inspire you to do something too.

Super Emo Friends

LMAO!!!! Quality....that's all I have to say (found it on a foreign website :p )

The Capsule Collection from Deadgood

It's interesting how I find that there is something bright and colourful about light grey. It's such a contemporary shade don'cha think. Which is why I find that the colourful buttons creating the pleats/dimples (or whatever you want to call it) don't clash at all. They remind me of doe or donuts. It looks like someone stuck their thumb in a ball of doe to create a mold for someone to sit in. Whatever, they're lush! Love 'em.

Xmas Declarations by Ctrl.Alt.Shift

Read the title carefuuly. They're not very christmasy (obv) but I think that's the whole point.
I think it's cool that designer are thinking about the people who might not be home for christmas. Here's what Ctrl.Alt.Shift had to say:

‘A Dead Thoughtful Product’

Chestnuts are roasting and the halls are decked, oh ‘tis the season to be jolly… Unless, perhaps, you are one of the millions who exist silently in an often forgotten reality.

In a bid to encourage people to think beyond tinsel and Christmas cake, youth initiative Ctrl.Alt.Shift has developed a unique seasonal tree decoration: delicate glass baubles which are actually replica hand grenades.

Designed by Dorothy for Ctrl.Alt.Shift in association with Suck UK, the’Xmas Declarations’ will add sparkle to any branch, whilst offering a reminder that the time of year does not bring cheer to all.

Ctrl.Alt.Shift is an experimental initiative politicising a new generation of activists for social justice and global change. Using creativity, photography, film, stories, illustrations and music, it aims to give a voice to the silent majority.

Roland Semprie

I found this on yet another foreign website so I don't know the basis behind it. I just find it entertaining that someone has invented a T-shirt that lets you monitor your workout, by the sweat on your torso. I think it's pretty pointless but leaves room for elaboration (for your designers out there).
