Collective housing project by Sou Fujimoto Architects

Their designed for my favourite country in the world....TOKYO!!! I think these are pretty beautiful! They give a real sense of community. I would define this design as "urban contemporary" and would defo move into one of these with a group of friends, or perhaps they would make pretty quality college apartments. With two/three independent rooms per house, they're perfect for simple quiet living, with a community feel.
However, I can see some down sides. With no banisters of railings, these houses are not very toddler or elderly friendly (check the picture of the figures positioned to be sat on roofs). These houses are a fairly dangerous way of living, suppose you came home late and tired or a little tipsy. Also, if you're playing loud music or wanting a party, without a tight community spirit, this would be a problem.
With perfect circumstances and conditions (tight community and no coming home late or tired), I wouldn't mind a community housing as such.
